The mission of every Infectious Awareables tie is to generate interest, discussion, even excitement about serious public health issues such as this silk My Doom Cyber Virus tie in black/yellow. Believing that humor can be a powerful educational tool, Infectious Awareables neckties take an atypical, slightly irreverent approach to some very serious subjects.

"Start the Conversation!"
"My Doom" was one of the first of what has now become a familiar threat to us all: an internet virus specifically designed to disrupt our digital life. Much like human viruses, internet viruses and worms invade, spread and occasionally overwhelm their hosts, causing anything from a headache to the dreaded "Fatal Error" (Noted subtly at bottom of design). Here's an anti-viral “solution” - especially when matched with black or blue - that would make Norton jealous! Geeks unite!
Thanks to Mary Jo Maslin and Dr. Gene Spafford, CERIAS, Purdue University for their input and inspiration on this design.
A back-of-tie "Awareness Note" and a source citation are incorporated in the pattern design, which reads:
Computer viruses, much like human viruses are parasitic programs designed to attach, replicate and spread. Whether technically a virus or a worm – when it hits YOUR computer, it is known simply as @#$%^&* ! "
"Creative input from Mary Jo Maslin and Eugene H. Spafford, Ph.D., The Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) Purdue University."
